*Tranas, Brujas y Vampiras*

In „Tranas, Brujas y Vampiras,“ Catalina Parra, Lomo Maniás, and Sen Reyes propose the personification of the vampire as a form of catharsis against cis-heteropatriarchal violence, linking this figure of agencied femininity to her sexual desires for revenge.

About the Artists

This project emerges as a collaboration between trans* artists from Barcelona and Argentina, where a fictional scene of revenge and vampirism by Catalina Parra is brought to life, not only through her own mise-en-scène, but also through Lomo Maniás’ exploration of sexual-dissident desire and Sen Reyes’ symbolistic storytelling. Lomo Maniás (they/them) is an interdisciplinary trans-nonbinary artist working in the expansion of queer and migrant narratives through communal exchange of everyday life affects and fantasies. Catalina Parra (she/her) is an illustrator and vedette, also known as Santa Catalina on stage. Since 2022, she’s been a co-producer, along with Sara Brown, of the show Cabaret Monstro, where the art and history of cabaret is re-contextualized as a place of queer resistance. Sen Reyes (she/they) is a visual and research-based artist whose work reflects on the political and psychological tensions of self-fiction, visual culture, and the grotesque.
