Mapping Wedding: In the Footsteps of the Mapquilt Tree
MKB 2025: A Stroll
18. Jun 2025
6.00–8.00 pm
Starting point:
Augustenburger Platz, Amrumer Straße/corner of Föhrer Straße, 13353 Berlin
End point:
Reinickendorfer Straße 61, 13347 Berlin
On a walk with the artist Stéphanie Imbeau, we explore the surroundings of the “Mapquilt Tree” – her artwork for the Reinickendorfer Straße school site, which is currently still under construction.
The “Mapquilt Tree” consists of two parts: a sculpture and a narrative. The narrative describes, in a surreal and poetic manner, how the sculpture came into being at its location. Visually, the artwork reflects the various districts of Wedding, which come together on the map like the patches of a quilt. During the walk, we gain insights into the artistic process as well as the different facets of Wedding.
Participation is free of charge.
