Wo die Wilden Tieren Wohnen by Stef Heidhues

MKB 2025: Inauguration

04. Jun 2025

3.00–5.00 pm

49th Primary School
Adalbertstraße 53
10179 Berlin

Official opening by Benjamin Fritz, District Councillor for Schools and Sport, and Claudia Rother, Headteacher of the 49th Primary School.

This will be followed by a guided tour and a discussion with the artists Stef Heidhues and Katrin Glanz, Chair of the judging panel, moderated by Elke Falat.

In her work Wo die Wilden Tiere Wohnen”, artist Stef Heidhues blends wild animals – the owl, raccoon, fox and lizard, all native to Berlin – with elements of the urban environment and the school building at four different locations within the school. Just as in the urban landscape, the animals are well hidden and often only reveal themselves at second glance. With her aluminium sculptures, the artist playfully addresses themes of urban ecology and history, such as the division of Berlin. During a guided tour followed by a discussion, Stef Heidhues will provide insights into her working methods and the background to the project.

Participation is free of charge.
