Ausstellung: ÆON by Giordano Cioni | OKK

ÆON traces the archetype of Aquarius across astrological ages, using the dawning Aquarian Age as a mythological lens on present-day social and spiritual transformation – through sculpture, photography and experimental film.

ÆON explores the archetype of Aquarius, the cosmic Water-Bearer, tracing its evolving symbolism across the shifting astrological ages of the Precession of the Equinoxes. The dawning Aquarian Age becomes a mythological framework through which to reflect on the present as a time of changing social paradigms and spiritual renewal.

The project unfolds through a constellation of works including resin figures exploring Aquarian and water-bearing motifs, steel and concrete sculptures engraved with sigils and elemental symbols, mixed-media photographic still lifes presented in hand-crafted sculptural frames, and an experimental film structured as an initiatory journey.

About the Artist

Giordano Cioni’s work aims to capture the arcane within contemporary contexts, weaving the language of Western myth, ritual and symbol through a queer lens. The artist employs sculpture, photography and film to trace ancestral codes embedded in bodies, landscapes, and ritual acts. Drawing from sources as diverse as Renaissance cosmology, alchemy and Egyptian mythology, he reimagines ancient spiritual systems in a contemporary fluid paradigm, amalgamating varied symbols, techniques and media within a unified mythological framework. Archetypes are not abstract ideas but living forces in evolution, which I directly experience in the act of creation.
