Community Karaoke: Spin Together with Community Summer School | Himmelbeet

Set in the Himmelbeet garden in Wedding, this karaoke session transforms an everyday neighborhood space into a site of collective expression. We invite you to become part of a shared performance where the community takes to the stage. We sing together as local icons and everyday legends, as people who create and make the neighborhood, rather than distant celebreties and stars.
Through karaoke, costume-making, and shared performance, we celebrate community values such as care, resilience, humor and joy. Together, we create simple, symbolic costumes inspired by those values.
The garden becomes a site of community performance and karaoke becomes a tool to practice togetherness, messy, playful and collective. The gathering invites us to reflect on community as a practice rather than a construct: something we create together, again and again.

This karaoke session is hosted by we are born free e.V. and the Community Summer School of the Nachbarsxhaftsgarten Kreuzberg, a collective of artistic and cultural practitioners creating temporary spaces for learning, rooted in neighborhoods and shaped by those who take part.
