Poster Campaign: Q-Futurism by Célia N’Noko | all over Moabit and Wedding

A poster campaign in public spaces that highlights Black queer identities and celebrates their diversity.

08. – 10. May 2026

all over Moabit and Wedding

“Q-Futurism” is a portrait series dedicated to the theme of Black queer representation. The subjects are portrayed through a Black (Afro-German/Afro-diasporic) queer lens, which captures their diversity and uniqueness without reproducing the usual stereotypes and clichés associated with an outsider’s perspective. The intersectional aspect of Black existence is significant, as today’s LGBTQ+ discourse and everything surrounding issues of gender and sexuality is often viewed as something that has become established in the West and is considered novel. By focusing on people of African descent, the aim is to highlight the pre-colonial African spectra of gender and sexuality, which were suppressed by racism, colonialism and Christianity.

Black queer people are not only THE leading trendsetters and a defining part of pop culture, but have also always been fighters for freedom and equality for all, and are thus true icons in every respect. This colourful and powerful photo series is my way of paying homage to those who are often denied the space to be seen and celebrated.
