Luisenstadt Primary School

A new building for a four-form-entry primary school was constructed at Adalbertstraße 53 in Berlin-Mitte as part of Berlin’s School Building Initiative II, in order to meet the growing demand for primary school places in the northern part of Luisenstadt. In accordance with the Building Directive (ABau), funding for art in public buildings was also allocated for this school building. The work “Wo die wilden Tiere wohnen” (Where the Wild Animals Live).

 


Art-in-Architecture-Competition

The Mitte District Office in Berlin launched a single-stage, restricted and anonymous competition for art in public buildings in connection with the construction of a new primary school at Adalbertstraße 53, 10179 Berlin, following an initial open application process across Berlin in accordance with the RPW 2013 and the State of Berlin’s guidelines for art in public buildings and art in urban spaces. The building is being constructed as part of Berlin’s School Construction Initiative II.
